Introduction |
This video highlights the significance of Gwadar port to Pakistan and the region at large. Gwadar is a natural deep sea port in Baluchistan and provides the shortest land-sea linkage to land-locked regions. These include West of China, Afghanistan, Central Asia. By prioritizing the development of Gwadar, the Belt and Road Initiative has also encouraged the road connectivity of Gwadar with Lahore, Karachi and Quetta through postal highways. CPEC will bring the destinies of China and Pakistan bound together with respect to employment alleviation, social welfare, good human relations. Given its potential and the vast resources being channeled its way, the Gwadar port has the potential to become Asia’s largest port by 2022. |
